When should I keep my child home from school?
The following are guidelines and may be reasons why the school nurse would send your child home from school and why students should be kept home
If you have any questions about any of the above please call your school nurse and/or check with your pediatrician.
Please remember the importance of the following tips to help prevent the spread of any illness:
Please call the school at 508-399-7560 and let us know your student will be absent, you will receive a call from the school if we don't hear from you.
The following are guidelines and may be reasons why the school nurse would send your child home from school and why students should be kept home
- Temperature greater than 100.0
- Your child must be fever free for 24 hours, without the use of fever reducing medication such as Motrin/ibuprofen or Tylenol/acetaminophen
- Your child must be without vomiting/ diarrhea for 24 hours before returning to school
- If your child is placed on antibiotics s/he must complete 24 hours of dosing prior to returning to school.
- severe cold symptoms, excessive coughing/ sneezing

- Keeping students home when they are sick
- Students must be fever free for 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medications such as Advil or Tylenol before returning to school
